Why do we use certain herbs over others? Why do we set intentions the way we do? Why do we use a particular tool or method of spellcasting? So often, when we cast spells we're focused on the how and what of the spell but rarely do we get all of the nitty-gritty details of why we're casting the spell in a particular way explained to us.

The problem is, if you don't know the WHY behind your witchcraft, you can't progress past a relatively basic level!

Understanding how to cast spells is important when you’re just beginning. As a beginner, the most important thing is to get your hands dirty and start playing around with spells and finding out what works for you and what doesn’t. At a certain point, however, that knowledge of "how" begins to no longer be enough for you to continue progressing in your growth as a witch. 

Eventually, you have to start learning why we do what we do. You have to learn to understand the theory and the reasons driving the actions that we take so that you can begin to make more complex, nuanced decisions about your craft and the magic that you’re doing. The truth is, without learning about the structure of spells and magic, you can never begin writing your own spells or altering spells to suit your needs. You’re stuck with the cookie cutter version of witchcraft. There’s no personalization, there’s no customization. You can’t make any kind of substitutions or alterations without learning about spell structure.

If you’re feeling like writing spells and customizing things is a bit above your current level, that’s perfectly OK. This class is still going to be super helpful for you and it will allow you to bridge that gap and get closer to that intermediate level where you can begin writing your own spells or altering spells to suit your needs better.
